Roba Great Pumpkin Party featuring The Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off
How big is BIG????? Roba Family Farms is northeast PA’s official weigh off site for the Great Pumpkin Commonwealth. On opening day 2012, we are hosting our second annual Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off. This spectacular event attracts growers and their enormous pumpkins from near and far competing for the world record weight. You have to see it to believe it!! You can gaze at these giant pumpkins being weighed and judged while you enjoy your day of fun on the farm. The 2011 winning pumpkin weighed in at 1,469.50 pounds.In fact, over half of the entries each weighed over 1000 pounds. Paul Epsom, of Greystone Gardens and WNEP’s Home and Backyard, will again oversee this exciting event as Master of Ceremonies. Winners receive cash prizes, this year sponsored by Bartron Supply, your local John Deere and Bobcat dealer. This event is held at our main stage area and is included with general farm admission.

Roba Family Farms proudly salutes the members of our U.S. Armed Forces. Each year we designate our opening day as Military Appreciation Day. Everyone is invited to our flag raising ceremony at 11:30 am, led by retired military members of various local communities. The farm offers free admission to active and retired military members and their immediate families (valid ID required for free admission). For more information on Military Appreciation Day.

Roba Family Farms and the Ronald McDonald House of Scranton are proud to announce this year’s partnership to benefit “The House that Love Built“. Come meet Ronald and his friends and be mesmerized at Ronald’s Magic Show. Have fun in this year’s maze , honoring 20 years of Roba Family Farms fun.
Roba Family Farms will contribute a portion of our general admission fee to the Ronald McDonald House of Scranton.

Scouts Day
Roba Family Farms is hosting a special Boy Scout and Girl Scout Day. Plan now for your group to visit the farm for a memorable and fun-filled adventure. Hundreds of Scouts enjoyed last year’s event; this year’s will be even bigger. Contact your leaders for information on badge programs being held at the farm on this date. Egg on a Spoon, Bobbing for Donuts, The Chicken Chase, Poop Hoops, and more … I know, I know – “What are Poop Hoops?” – you’ll have to stop by and see. Come and have some crazy fun on the farm at our unique Farm Olympics. Compete against family, friends or total strangers. You might even win a prize!!
Sunday Afternoon, September 23 1pm- 4pmPink Ribbon Pumpkin Day
Think “pink” — pink ribbons, that is. Roba Family Farms and Susan G. Komen for the Cure are teaming up for the day. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and the farm is contributing a portion of today’s general admission fee to the NEPA affiliate. A select group of custom painted pumpkins will be available for purchase to benefit the local chapter. Other pink ribbon events include Pink Ribbon Scavenger Hunt, Pink Ribbon Pig Races, Damian the Magician and much, much more. Enjoy a day of fall fun at the farm. Show your support …WEAR PINK.

Kid’s Safety Festival
Who knew safety could be so much fun? Here at Roba Family Farms we are all about family fun, and we want kids to be safe all day, every day. There are many events today to learn all about kid’s safety. McGruff the Crime Dog and Smokey Bear* will be on hand midday to greet our guests. The Dalton Fire Company will exhibit some exciting equipment and you will get to see a real fireman in his full fire-fighting gear. Thanks to the The Lodges of the 15th Masonic District, all kids can go home with a copy of their fingerprints. The masons will be conducting their CHIP’s “Purple Packet” program. All of this AND a full day of farm fun.

Trick or Treat Activities and the Ronald McDonald Parade
Come enjoy our final fall weekend at the farm. Special activities will start at noon for the trick or treaters. The Ronald McDonald parade will start at 1:30 pm. Wear your Halloween costume, and march in the parade with Ronald and the Roba Family Farms happy witch. The Sundown Marshmallow Roast Corral is the location for these activities and the start of the parade. All parade marchers will get special treats.
